Objective

Measure the slip and transmission efficiency of flat and V-belts at different tensions and loads.

What you will build

A variable-speed motor, a driven pulley, flat belt and V-belt arrangements with adjustable tension, a rope brake or generator load, and speed sensors on both pulleys.

Results you can expect

What you will learn

Belt drives, friction, power transmission, and why belt tension matters in real machines.

Tools and notes

Two tachometers, spring balances, energy meter, Excel. Fit belt guards.

Resume points from this project

Replace [x] with your own measured results. Write only what you really did.
