Objective

Build a digital wattmeter and find its accuracy and error against a reference meter for resistive, inductive and electronic loads.

What you will build

A voltage sensor, a current sensor, an ADC and a microcontroller computing true RMS voltage, current, real power and power factor, with a display and a calibration routine.

Results you can expect

What you will learn

Measurement of power, RMS calculation, calibration and uncertainty, core skills for a testing and quality laboratory.

Tools and notes

ESP32/Arduino with ADS1115, ZMPT101B and CT sensors, reference meter, Excel. Connects to mains, so use an enclosed, fused and isolated test box.
