Objective

Control a pump automatically by level, protect it against dry run and show tank status and pump hours on an HMI or SCADA screen.

What you will build

A water tank model with level sensors, a small pump, a mini PLC (or a PLC trainer) with ladder logic, an HMI or SCADA screen and a dry-run protection circuit.

Results you can expect

What you will learn

PLC programming, sensors, interlocks and basic SCADA, the entry point to industrial automation jobs.

Tools and notes

Mini PLC or software PLC, HMI/SCADA demo software, level sensors. Use low-voltage pump and keep electrics away from water.
