Objective

Build a BLDC controller and compare its speed regulation, efficiency and torque-speed behaviour with a brushed DC motor drive.

What you will build

A small BLDC motor, a three-phase MOSFET bridge with drivers, a microcontroller reading the Hall sensors, a speed potentiometer and current sensing.

Results you can expect

What you will learn

Electronic commutation, three-phase bridges and motor control, central to EVs, drones and fans.

Tools and notes

Arduino/STM32, MOSFET driver ICs, tachometer, Excel. Use a current limit and a fuse, and keep fingers away from the rotating shaft.
