Energy / EnvironmentEasy-Medium

Approx. component budget: Rs. 5,000 - 9,000

Diagram of Mini Biogas Digester: Gas Yield vs Feed Ratio
Diagram (illustration, not to scale)

Objective

Compare daily biogas yield and gas pressure for different feed-to-water ratios and temperatures.

What you will build

A small digester drum, a floating gas holder or balloon, feed and outlet pipes, a pressure gauge and a gas flow or water-displacement measurement, fed with cow dung and kitchen waste slurry.

Results you can expect

What you will learn

Anaerobic digestion basics, gas storage design and a practical waste-to-energy system.

Tools and notes

Gauges, thermometer, Excel. Biogas is flammable, so test outdoors, check every joint for leaks and keep flames away.
