Power Systems / RenewableMedium-Hard

Approx. component budget: Rs. 10,000 - 16,000

Diagram (illustration, not to scale)

Objective

Manage power flow between solar, battery and grid supply by priority rules and measure how much grid energy is saved.

What you will build

A small DC microgrid with a solar panel, a battery, a grid-simulating supply, controllable loads, power measurement at each node and a controller that decides the power flow and logs everything.

Results you can expect

What you will learn

Microgrid control, energy management and priority logic, a growing field in renewable energy systems.

Tools and notes

ESP32, several INA219 sensors, relays or MOSFETs, battery, solar panel, dashboard, Excel. Keep the system at low DC voltage and use fuses on every source.

Resume points from this project
